{SiMpLe} Necklace Idea!

Just in case you missed it on Design Dazzle...here is a very FuN and {Simple} Necklace idea that I made with my girls!

{Simple} DIY Initials Necklace

Supplies Needed:

Tim Holtz Fragments {I bought mine @ JoAnns}

Diamond Glaze  

E6000 Adhesive

Scrapbook Embellishments with initials {I found these at Craft Warehouse and are stickers} 

1 Necklace backer

1 Necklace Chain

Exact-o Knife

First spread the Diamond Glaze on your little plexi-glass fragment...

Then place on top of the scrapbook embellishment of your choice...firmly press...and let dry...

Trim edge with exact-o knife if needed...

Use E6000 to glue on your necklace backer and let dry completely...

Add a chain...and there you have it!  

A FuN, SIMPLE and Very CuTE lil' necklace for any girly to make!

My {Kitchen Cabinet} Transformation!

 I am sooo excited to share with you  what has been keeping me a little pre-occupied recently.  I knew I wanted to change the look of our kitchen...but was a little hesitant on how to do it.  Sooo finally I just decided to dive in...and go for it.  Here's a peek at what I've been working on:

Phew!!! 

 It was a LOT of work...but I LOVE how it turned out...and am  sooo glad we did it!!  It is AMAZING what a little work and paint can do!

  

My {bathroom makeover} info...

Thanks so much for all of your awesome comments on the bathroom makeover!  :)  I also received a few comments and e-mails asking me if I wouldn't mind breaking-down the info on my bathroom project...so here are the paint colors...costs...etc.

 I used all Behr brand paints ...and used French Roast for my vanity, and around mirror...Coliseum Marble for the upper wall...and Silky White for the beadboard.  I also bought a Silky White in Hi-Gloss and used it on the trim.  These colors were from the Premium Plus Ultra Color Center.  I had them mix the coliseum marble and silky white in the regular Behr paint...and had the french roast mixed in the premium plus ultra. (AWESOME stuff...I only had to paint the vanity @ mirror once...so it was definitely worth the extra money)

This is about how much the supplies came to:

Beadboard -$40

Liquid Nails-$13.00 (we also used a few nails to hold up the beadboard)

Caulk-$3

1x4 & 1x6 pine for around mirror-$13

Moulding (base, top of beadboard)-$27

Paint-$80

Light Fixture{Home Depot}, Faucet{Home Depot}, TP and Towel Holders{Lowe's}, Handle on front of vanity and shower curtain rod{Target}, Towel Hooks{Lowe's},- about $240.00

So the total cost of our bathroom re-do was around $415.00! 

The HUGE smile on my face-Priceless  :) 

Let me tell ya...it feels like night and day...and was worth every penny.  :)

What I've been up to...a {Bathroom Makeover}

YuP!!  Lately my hubby and I have been busy hangin' a whole lotta beadboard...and doing a whole lotta painting!  When I saw this HERE...I knew I had to give it a try.  AWESOME!

Here's a couple of BEFORE pics:

We added beadboard to the front of the cabinet door...and the side of the cabinet.

Added a frame around the mirror by gluing 1x6's and 1x4's right to the mirror...and added a little moulding to the top.

Of course...a new faucet and light fixture.

Took the towel bar away and added these FuN coat hooks.

Here's a side by side.  What do ya think??

Next up...bring on the kitchen :)

Photography Friday- FuN with "HEARTS"

Hi All!! 

Welcome to Photog Friday!! 

Since Valentines Day is just around the corner...I am going to show you how I added a little "heart LoVe" to the photo's below.  On this first one...I cut out a bunch of hearts with my Cricut...then taped them to my wall.  Then...had my daughter pretend she was blowing hearts out of her hands.   I have seen similar pics on the web...and think they are so FuN!  There are many CrEaTiVe ways you could use this technique!    

On this next photo...I simply created an overlay in PSE7...by creating a new image, blank file.. making sure the background is transparent.  Then using my brush tool...select color and draw or dot your hearts...then simply grab that file from the bottom and drag it over the photo you wish to overlay...and it should be there.  Adjust the size to your liking...and on your layers pallet click overlay {if you'd like}.  Then adjust the opacity to your liking...and your done!   

Such a FuN way to add instant awesome-ness  to any photo!

Another take on my {$3 Frame Makeover} and Great Gift Idea!

Ok...sooo do you remember this:

{my $3 frame makeover}

 Well... for our Super Saturday...we wanted to make these dry-erase calendars...but wanted a simpler way of doing the grids instead of drawing them on with a permanent marker.  Sooo...I asked my awesome sis-in-law {owner of Daisy Dot Design and Decor} if she could make the whole calendar out of vinyl. 

 And...this is how it turned out:

LoVe it!!!

 

 I  just bought a 11x14 frame @ Walmart...and stuck the vinyl on the inside of the glass...then added scrapbook paper behind the glass.  The paper just sat in there {just like a photo would} so that I can change it out each season etc.

It was as easy as sticking a big sticker on the glass...and you're DONE! 

Wouldn't this make a great neighbor, sister, friend, co-worker Gift??!!

Lil' Hand Warmers!

Hi All!!   First of all  I just wanted to THANK all of you who have added your links to my "It's a Creative Christmas" Party going on right now!  You guys are AWESOME!!!  If you haven't checked it out yet...you have to...you will definitely be inspired!

This next gift idea is one that I shared at Someday Crafts...but in case you missed it...here it is:  

Lil' Hand Warmers:

You just warm them up in the microwave...then place them in your kiddos pockets to keep their lil' fingers nice and toasty on those chilly days.

 Here's how I made mine:

 First I started with 4 pieces of scrap flannel ...and cut to the size I wanted... (I think mine was about 4"x6")

 Then I cut a heart shape in 2 of the pieces of flannel...

 Then found some green and white scrap fabric and cut 2 pieces the same size as the flannel...and placed behind the 2 pieces of flannel with the hearts...

Then stitched around all four edges...

 Then stitched around the heart...

 Then placed the heart piece of flannel and the blank piece of flannel wrong sides together and stitched all the way around  leaving a small opening...then turned it inside out...and poked the corners with a pencil making sure the corners were all out...

 Then filled with rice...

 Then hand-stitched the hole closed...

 And there ya have it!!!

A very SIMPLE and {inexpensive} project!

 Hmmmm....Wouldn't these make great stocking stuffers?!!

{FYI:  Speaking from experience...only microwave them for 1 minute.  I accidentally nuked one of mine for way too long {I think 3 min}.....and completely burnt the rice and my house smelled like it to. :) }  Other than that...my kids LoVe them!
