Photography Friday!!

Hi All! Welcome back to Photography Friday! Camilla from CioCo Photography here! Thanks so much to everyone who linked up for the photography challenge! I loved going through them and seeing all the talent that is out there! I had such a hard time picking one to feature, but I just loved this one from My Creative Escapes:

New experiences really are amazing. Thanks again to all of you!

This week is supposed to be 'Beautify It' time. I wanted however to share a tip since I didn't last month, so we'll save 'Beautify It' till next time.

So on to today. I want to talk today about something 'outside of the box'. How many of us do this: see something we like and snap the picture, with it right in the middle? I took this one of my cute hubby last Christmas with a 3 mega pixel point and shoot:

I'm sure I'm not the only one who puts images right in the middle, so  I would like to talk about composing your images to get the most out of them. There are a lot of things that will help you do so, but  I want to talk about the rule of thirds. Many of you will know it, but for those who don't, awesome!  The lines in the picture of my husband represents the rule of thirds. When you are framing your image, imagine it is broken into nine equal boxes, or with three intersecting columns each side. The best images will intersect at those lines, so while his eyes are ideally on the first horizontal line, the image would appear better if his nose and the kitten intersected the first vertical or horizontal line as well. For example:

By placing her eyes right on the first vertical line and one eye right in the intersection of the first vertical and second horizontal, it draws you right into them. Plus she's gorgeous, so that helps too. ;) So go out and when you are taking pictures, whether it be with a pro camera or your point and shoot, this rule always applies to make it better! Think about your composition with the rule of thirds and you will be really pleased with the results, even if it is of the hubby singing to a kitten. :) Happy Friday! Go out and take some pictures!

And as you can tell that Stacie has taken a little break, I may be doing that as well, seeing as how our first baby is expected with the next week or so. So if I'm not back next week, or the week after that's why! :) Thanks for stopping by!
