Chicken Wire Picture Boards

Here is another fun, cute way to display pictures. I just took cabinet door frames and stapled chicken wire in the middle with a staple gun. With the clothes pins, I traced around each clothes pin on some scrapbook paper and cut out with an exact-o knife. Then distressed the edges with an ink pad then glued it on. Then I tied a cute ribbon around. I thought they turned out really cute considering they were regular old clothespins. These were really fun to make and they really didn't take long at all. The possibilities are endless!

  4. Where did you find the chicken wire? All I can find is the shiny, "galvanized" kind!

  5. Hi Erin!

Thanks for the question! The chicken wire that I used for these I had previously used for a climbing fence for my peas in the garden, so it was already weathered pretty good. I wonder if you could find some at a store where they stored thier chicken wire outside. I know home improvement stores have chicken wire , and also farm and ranch supply stores like D&B Supply... but I'm not sure if they keep theirs outside. If you can't find anything but the shiny chicken wire...I wonder if you could spraypaint it with a matte gray or whatever color you would prefer. When I was painting the pink frames I got a little on the chicken wire, and I almost decided to paint all of the chicken wire pink! I think it would look realy CuTe that way too! Well I hope this helps a little. If I find some quick way to oxidize or rust the wire...I'll let ya know!
    Thanks
    Stacie
